We are doing lots of cleanup on our replication target server and have
noticed an issue with stopping/purging replication of specific filespaces
(in this case, SystemState). All servers are RHEL Linux 7 ISP 7.1.7.400

As we understand it,

UPDATE FILESPACE insertnodenamehere 1 nametype=fsid datatype=back
*replstate=Purgedata*

is supposed to both STOP replication of that filespace and PURGE existing
data for that filesystem on the target replication server.

It seems to NOT do either. The SystemState filesystems are still on the
replication target server and when I checked yesterday, they were still
being replicated/updated. We issued the purgedata at least a couple of
months ago so timing shouldn't be an issue.

So, what are we missing?

FWIW, we are working to stop backing up SystemState completely (via
CLOPTSET DOMAIN ALL-LOCAL -SYSTEMSTATE) and will then purge all SystemState
backups manually. In the meantime, why isn't this working?
