Dave,
We have appplied the PGA3 (1550) microcode to the Ultrium drives, and it has made
an immense
difference to tape-tape operations. We are now achieving 13-15Gb per hour, as opposed
to 1-2Gb with OCE1 code.
I appreciate that ADIC's library microcode is different to the what IBM would use, but
it was drive, not library code that
was being questioned...

Hi Bruce,

I saw your question on the adsm-list.
I answered your question regarding this to Mark Duley.

I talked with our h/w chaps, and they say even though the
ADIC Scalar LTO100 emulates a IBM3583, it isn't one.
The microcode versions don't apply.

You need to contact ADIC regarding performance and
possible new microcode.

Regards,
Dave
