Hi,

basically, the only reason to use different storage pool at all
are d i f f e r e n t requirements for handling the data.
This can be different required degree of redundacy (one, two or three
copies of each file), different storage locations, different
requirements for time to restore, and so on..

If this is true, than you must use separate pools.
If this is not true, you can use single storage pool as well, even
single primary pool.

I tend to use separate pools,
because it leaves me more freedom for the future
at the costs of slightly worse tape usage and more daily tape mounts.

Subject: Archives, Storage Pools, and DR

I currently have 2 primary storage pools, one for archives and one for
backups.
>From a DR standpoint, should I have both primary storage pools copy to a
single copy storage pool or should I split them into two copy storage
pools.

Any thoughts......
