Hi The error you are getting is due to a bug in CLIB.NLM. First of all, you should upgrade your TSM client to at least version 4.2.1.9(if i remember correctly). We're running at level 4.2.1.23, and it works great.
Second of all, your Novell admins may be hesitant, but there are no other choice than to upgrade to tsa5up8, as the bug in CLIB.NLM is corrected in this version. This errors is logged with Tivoli. Thereof the version 4.2.1.9 client. However, Tivoli cannot do anything about the bug in CLIB.NLM. There is also a registred request at Novell support concering this problem. I'd try getting the Novell admins to upgrade, as this is the only choice. The issue is more likely related to the version of Novell and its components based on reading and comments from others... Here is where we are at: TSA500 5.03 TSANDS 5.25 SMDR 5.04 The Novell admins are hesitant to put on TSA5UP7 or TSA5UP8 because these are still beta but contain important fixes that apparantly TSM likes (speedwise) Any other hints/suggestion would be VERY appreciated. Backups are taking forever on these Novell 5 boxes... If it is under 98%, you need to increase the number of database buffers in the TSM server.
