I now have an answer from Level 2 - it's a known problem and requires a database audit to resolve. This is an 86% utilized 100 GB database and should run two, if not three days (I hope!).
Again the error message was: ANR9999D iminit.c(820): ThreadId<0> Error 8 converting Group.Members to Backup.Groups. Getting clearance from those affected now and will try to run this over the weekend and upgrade next week. Will post audit stats at the end of the process. Gretchen Thiele Princeton University
