TSM currently does not support NDMP backup/recovery of EMC Clariion. The solution described in the referenced white paper does not involve use of NDMP. Instead, this solution involves using a TSM client to access files on the Clariion, which are backed up LAN-free to volumes in the TSM stoage hierarchy. In contrast to TSM's NDMP support, this method provides file-level backups, requires data transfer over a SAN, and may not necessarily preserve file attributes.
