Correct me if I'm wrong, I ddon't have the windows client book nearby, but can't you specify an explicit MC for a directory in the client options file by referencing the directory followed by the MC?
>>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 06/12/03 03:44PM >>> I knew that I forgot something in my original message. . . In addition to what I already stated, the backups for the two different directories have different version/retention requirements, thus the need for different management classes. I created one schedule for the weekday backups, and it is working without any problems since the default MC (MC01) is the correct MC for these backups. However, when I create the second schedule for the Saturday backups, and assign the new Policy Domain to the second schedule, it also works but also uses the default MC because I can't find any way to force it to use a different MC (MC02) within the same Policy Domain. I didn't have any problem creating and activating a Policy Domain with multiple management classes, but can I actually use anything other than the default? -----Original Message----- From: Lawrence Clark [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, June 12, 2003 2:27 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: TSM Backup Schedule You could define two schedules...type cmd...one for weekdays, the other for Saturday's and associate the client with both schedules. >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 06/12/03 03:08PM >>> Can anyone tell me if its possible to select a management class other than the default for the Policy Domain when setting up a client backup schedule? We have a new Windows client which wants to back up one directory on weekdays, and another directory on Saturdays. I created a new Policy Domain, Policy Set, MC, and Backup Copy Group to handle the weekday backups. Can I create another MC and Backup Copy Group under the same Policy Domain for the Saturday backup, or do I need an entirely new Policy Domain? I've found how to specify a MC for an archive, but I can't find anything similar for backups.
