Hi Richard NetWare see's the modification date which belongs to the file it self... not necessary a date/time set in the timespan the file have existed on the filesystem... therefore you can have a modification date before the creation date...
I have been going through the schedlog file for both dates... nothing suspicios there... My headache is really bad... ;o) Regards Flemming -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: Richard Sims [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sendt: 30. juli 2003 15:13 Til: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Emne: Re: SV: Multiple backup of a file that doesn't change? > Opticut.exe (active), Modified: 01-12-1999 15:27:12, Created: 08-06-2001 > 18:19:25, Backed Up: 28-07-2003 21:15:17 > Opticut.exe (inactive), Modified: 01-12-1999 15:27:12, Created: 08-06-2001 > 18:19:25, Backed Up: 25-07-2003 03:31:21 > > How can this happen???? I'm not familiar with NetWare (my brain is full), but to have a file modified before it is created doesn't sound quite right. Maybe that's a NetWare peculiarity in the way it establishes a file which came in from outside with an earlier mod stamp than when it's being planted at the site? I would also consider computer clocks having been wrong at some point, including Y2K. In any case, I would go beyond timestamp pondering and inspect the log from the backup done on the 25th, to see just what went on there. Richard Sims, BU
