Have you tried changing access to read-only? We had a problem when we went from 3590e to 3590h where a single drive was not upgraded properly and any tape that that drive had written was labeled as 3590e. After drive problem was solved, the only way we could be sure and read all tapes was to make them all read-only and start re-writing with scratches. Might not help, but you can try.

I made the tape status Read/Write and still had the same issue. We are using the latest drivers downloaded from the web. Anything I can do while waiting for Tivoli to call?
