I have performed a controlled shut down and rebooted the server - the volume
did not come back online autmatically. Is there something else I should be
doing whilst the server app is down?

If you can afford it try halting the tsm server application and bringing it
back online. TSM will do it for you on reboot or report the error...

thanks

Did you also try "define dbcopy F:\adsm|server\db\db5.dsm"?

If that doesn't work either, I'm stumped.

Any ideas what to do if it appears when trying to delete the copy volume
ADSM reports "not defined volume"? The set up has been working fine, but
had an issue with one of the hard drives on which a mirrored volume sat.
ADSM shows it as offline, but I cannot delete the offline volume in order
to
recreate the mirror due to the error above.

Unfortunately, server version is still ADSM 3.1...

Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

you can delete the copy volumes from TSM with

"delete dbvolume /tsm/dbcopy/dbcopyX.dsm"

with X as the volume Number.

After Maintenance you can recreate the volumes with the
"dsmfmt" tool and define the volumes in TSM with :

"define dbcopy /tsm/dbcopy/dbcopyX.dsm"

I think it's a good idea to do a DB Backup before,
deleting the DB volumes.

Greetings,
Tom
