Of course we did both. It looks and feels just like a simple file backup and restore, but you have to make sure to also Include the configuration file of the guest OS in the backup and restore actions, because they rely on each other.
Let say we have an guest os running in /vmfs/sharkdisk/Windows2003-server.dsk The configuration of this OS is stored in a .vmx file in the /root/vmware directory. You can dictate the locations of these files, so this could vary. But you need these files when you want to run the guest OS. Grtz.
