Hi, We are upgrading our systems and have questions.
We are currently at AIX 4.3.3 on the target server and AIX 5.2 on the RMAN server. We are currently at Oracle 8.1.7.4 on the target server and Oracle 9.2.0.5 on the RMAN server. We are currently at TDP 2.2.0.2 and TSM 4.2.1 (client) and TSM 5.1.9.3 (server). We are having intermittant errors when testing restores taken when the RMAN server was AIX 4.3.3 / Oracle 8.1.7.4. A sample follows: RMAN-00571: =========================================================== RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS =============== RMAN-00571: =========================================================== RMAN-03002: failure during compilation of command RMAN-03013: command type: restore RMAN-03007: retryable error occurred during execution of command: IRESTORE RMAN-07004: unhandled exception during command execution on channel t1 RMAN-10035: exception raised in RPC: ORA-19501: read error on file "df_536438679_41_1", blockno 897 (blocksize=512) ORA-27190: skgfrd: sbtread2 returned error ORA-19511: ANS1017E (RC-50) Session rejected: TCP/IP connection failure RMAN-10031: ORA-19624 occurred during call to DBMS_BACKUP_RESTORE.RESTOREBACKUPPIECE After performing audit on the tape, the problem may or may not reoccur. We know TDP is down level. We cannot pull the AIX / Oracle Compatability PDF from IBM's website, apparently due to server problems on their side. Is there a version of TDP that would work in our current environment? We are planning to upgrade the target system to AIX 5.2 / Oracle 9.2.0.5 in the next two months. Would we need to upgrade TDP again at that time? Thanks, Russ Brooks
