Yes, this is true. IBMs take on this is that it is up to the customer to make the library "master" server highly available. So cluster the TSM server. If you've got fibre attached disks for your TSM DB, Log and disk pools, then include both of your 630's in the same zone as the TSM disks so that you could manually fail the second TSM server over in case of problems. -----Original Message----- From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Hart, Charles Sent: Friday 12 November 2004 11:15 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: To Library Share Or Not? Backup Env Info 2 TSM Servers Running on p630's TSM ver 5.2.x Both Server using the same 3494Lib with 8x3592 FC Drives Zoned to each TSM box , but robot is being shared by both TSM Servers We are looking at setting up Library Sharing between both Backup Servers. While it sounds great, the downside we are struggling with is that if the TSM server that is the Library "Master" so to speak is not available then the other TSM server sharing the library can not access the library. Is anyone else using library sharing? If so what are your experiences... Thanks a Bunch!
