In continuation of my previous mail, the DSMSERV_DIR and DSMSERV_CONFIG environment are defined in bash profile of root user.
But still I am unable to start the server. Apart from this where can I get the rc.adsmserv and the Linux script you are talking about? In AIX, at least, the rc.adsmserv start-up script supplied in the server directory performs a cd to the server directory before invoking the dsmserv module, for the simple reason that many of the resources needed for server execution reside there, most obviously the licenses file and the national languages messages repository. I believe that the Linux TSM server start-up script is called dsmserv.rc, and would expect it to also include a cd to its server directory. Also available to the customer are the DSMSERV_DIR and DSMSERV_CONFIG environment variables, mostly used for an alternate server, as documented in the Admin Guide manual.
