TSM server 5.3.1.x has a bad bug. I am not sure if you are using that or 5.3.0 But if you are on 5.3.1, you could try turning Collocation off for your destination storage pools.
IBM APAR IC46349 This bug makes TSM 5.3.1 useless for sites backing up more than a few servers. Matt G.
