Go to:

www.redbooks.ibm.com

Search: SG24-6554

Tivoli Storage Manager 5.1 Technical Guide

APPENDIX A explains all about using SQL SELECT to search the TSM DB.
It also explains how to get a list of the TSM tables and columns.

select * from syscat.tables
select * from syscat.columns

(But it is not a DB2 data base).

Do you want to know if a particular file is backed up?

Or do you want to know exactly which VOLUME contains the file?
