The incremental backup is backing up all databases that have changed DBID since the full. Questions: Is there some process running after the full that is changing the DBID? Does this also backup all 1800 on Tuesday?
We had this scenario one week and luckily figured it out quickly. For us, the full ran Saturday, then on Sunday they ran a compress on all databases. The compress changes the DBID. Monday incremental caught all databases again. Our cure was to run database cleanup routines on Saturday, and do a full backup on Sunday. This has a slight risk if there is a problem during a cleanup routine, we might have to restore to previous Sunday and roll forward the entire week, but this is very rare (we haven't needed this yet.). The problem we noticed is that we run the full email db backups on Saturdays and Sundays, then Monday-Friday night we run the incremental backups. Which instead backing up a few ids, it's backing up all the 1800 mail databases all over again on Monday only(another full) when in fact the full backup ran successful on Sunday.
