Yes, we are keeping offsite tapes offsite in the manner you described. The addition of an AIX box ate up all available space.

Use it for primary. Use 3583 for >off site tapes only. Offsite (copy) pool tapes don't have to be kept online and in the library. Use your MOVE DRM commands to eject the tapes from the library. Put the tapes in a conditioned location (preferably physically removed from your primary pool). Replace those tapes with scratch tapes.
