I see some incorrect statements below. You will need a different DSM.OPT file for each of your Exchange virtual servers. You do not put all six NODENAMEs in a single DSM.OPT file. The INCLUDEs for each server will be in the DSM.OPT file set up for that specific virtual server.
You would then launch a DP/Exchange command, using the /TSMOPTFile=dsmoptfilename and /EXCSERVER=virt-server-name command-line options. So.. in your example, you could launch the DP/Exchange GUIs like this: TDPEXC /TSMOPTFILE=EXCHVS01.OPT /EXCSERVER=MHSEXCHVS01 TDPEXC /TSMOPTFILE=EXCHVS02.OPT /EXCSERVER=MHSEXCHVS02 TDPEXC /TSMOPTFILE=EXCHVS03.OPT /EXCSERVER=MHSEXCHVS03 TDPEXC /TSMOPTFILE=EXCHVS04.OPT /EXCSERVER=MHSEXCHVS04 TDPEXC /TSMOPTFILE=EXCHVS05.OPT /EXCSERVER=MHSEXCHVS05 TDPEXC /TSMOPTFILE=EXCHVS06.OPT /EXCSERVER=MHSEXCHVS06 Thanks, Del ---------------------------------------------------- "ADSM: Dist Stor Manager" <ADSM-L@VM.MARIST.EDU> wrote on 05/21/2007 04:15:18 PM: > Can someone answer his question about the INCLUDES section of the dsn.opt? > > > Thanks, > --------------------------------------------------------------- > Bruce Kamp > Senior Server Analyst > Memorial Healthcare System > E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Phone: (954) 276-4097 > Fax: (954) 276-5381 > --------------------------------------------------------------- > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Ruzgar, Simon > Sent: Monday, May 21, 2007 4:01 PM > To: Kamp, Bruce > Subject: RE: [ADSM-L] Exchange Cluster Setup > > Can we get confirmation, the INCLUDES sections of each dsm.opt also refers > to the virtual server name so presumably we would have to add those for all > six virtual servers? > > -----Original Message----- > From: Kamp, Bruce > Sent: Monday, May 21, 2007 4:00 PM > To: Ruzgar, Simon > Subject: RE: [ADSM-L] Exchange Cluster Setup > > Sounds that way.... > > > Thanks, > --------------------------------------------------------------- > Bruce Kamp > Senior Server Analyst > Memorial Healthcare System > E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Phone: (954) 276-4097 > Fax: (954) 276-5381 > --------------------------------------------------------------- > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Ruzgar, Simon > Sent: Monday, May 21, 2007 3:56 PM > To: Kamp, Bruce > Subject: RE: [ADSM-L] Exchange Cluster Setup > > We have 6 active and 2 passive, the six active nodes all have different > "NODename" in the dsm.opt file(s) > > MHSEXCHVS01-TDPE > MHSEXCHVS02-TDPE > MHSEXCHVS03-TDPE > MHSEXCHVS04-TDPE > MHSEXCHVS05-TDPE > MHSEXCHVS06-TDPE > > So is this guy saying that in the dsm.opt files on the passive nodes that we > put all 6 nodenames in there? > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Kamp, Bruce > Sent: Monday, May 21, 2007 12:39 PM > To: Ruzgar, Simon > Subject: FW: [ADSM-L] Exchange Cluster Setup > > Does this help? > > > Thanks, > --------------------------------------------------------------- > Bruce Kamp > Senior Server Analyst > Memorial Healthcare System > E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Phone: (954) 276-4097 > Fax: (954) 276-5381 > --------------------------------------------------------------- > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Del Hoobler [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Monday, May 21, 2007 12:29 PM > To: ADSM-L@VM.MARIST.EDU > Subject: Re: [ADSM-L] Exchange Cluster Setup > > Hi Bruce, > > I recommend having a different TSM NODENAME for each > virtual Exchange server.
