Greetings, I am running TSM 5.3.4.0 on an AIX 5.3ML5 system. The NDMP backup in question is to a EMC Celerra running DartOS 5.5.25-2. I am trying to create a virtual filesystem mapping, which gives a new filesystem name to a subdirectory under a NAS filesystem, like so: define virtualfsmapping cx02_dm2 /fs_dst_BOA /fs_dst /BOA This command creates a new virtual filesystem name that maps to the directory /fs_dst/BOA. The command works: 01/30/08 17:17:14 ANR2017I Administrator SCHNJD issued command: DEFINE VIRTUALFSMAPPING cx02_dm2 /fs_dst_BOA /fs_dst /BOA (SESSION: 3848)
01/30/08 17:17:15 ANR2515I DEFINE VIRTUALFSMAPPING: A virtual file space mapping named /fs_dst_BOA for node CX02_DM2 has been defined. (SESSION: 3848) Then I ought to be able to issue: BACKUP NODE cx02_dm2 /fs_dst_BOA toc=y mode=full to back up just the files under that directory. But it doesn't work, I get a snapsure error: Date/Time Message -------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------- 01/30/08 17:20:56 ANR2017I Administrator SCHNJD issued command: BACKUP NODE cx02_dm2 /fs_dst_BOA toc=y mode=full (SESSION: 3992) 01/30/08 17:20:58 ANR0984I Process 7 for BACKUP NAS (FULL) started in the BACKGROUND at 17:20:58. (SESSION: 3992, PROCESS: 7) When I look at the log in the Celerra, I see these messages which match. 1/30/2008 17:22 Error NDMP < LOG type: 2, msg_id: 0, entry: SnapSure file system creation fails > 1/30/2008 17:22 Error NDMP < Look up the backupDir (/fs_dst/BOA) failed, make sure it exists. > Is there something I have to create in the Celerra to make this work? I looked through the help on the Celerra itself and could not find any reference to virtual fs mappings, but then again, the Celerra might call them something else. There were no hits on the TSM knowledgebase. Any suggestions? Best Regards, John D.
