Dear all, I'm sorry, but I'm not sure how to describe the problem with a few words, so I'll tell what was done and what happend:
user A uses an old PC running Windows98 (call it PC-A) and a TSM-Client (with nodename PC-AA). user B uses a newer PC running WindowsXP (call it PC-B) and a TSM-Client (nodename PC-BB) user B gets some new hardware and gives the old one (PC-B) to user A. user A reconfigures TSM to the nodename PC-AA. now user A can restore some data of the former PC-AA (but not all!) and some data of the former PC-BB (worriing about it). uninstalling and newly installing the client does not solve the problem. neither using tools to clean-up the windows registry, nor deleting the whole "C:/program files/Tivoli"-folder. perhaps, he can reinstall the whole windows-stuff which should solve the problem. but, isn't it a security lack that user A can restore data of user B? Any ideas how to make the PC getting only the data of the assigned TSM-Node? Any idea where TSM may store some config files or which keywords may be used inside the registry beside Tivoli, tivoli, tsm, TSM? Any solution besides complete reinstall? thanks, Bjørn -- ######################################################################## Dipl.-Ing.
