Well on AIX, I restore my base AIX server from a Sysback tape, and then restore my TSM DB. I was just wondering if folks who run their server on linux did something similar. Apparently no one runs their server on linux or else they don't DR.

You need to understand how you got from zero to "I have a system capable of running TSM version [yadda]". With that, and your magical few pieces of information (volhist, devconfig, DB backup, etc) you can go on to reconstitute. We, of all groups, need to be able to restore our application with only the specific minimum files and data. If you have a site disaster, you're going to need a BMR filestore to be up before you can resurrect your backup server? Eeek! - Allen S. Rout - Not opinionated at all.
