Bill, You are correct about not needing to create another TSM scheduler service for the TDP backups and using a single node. It is a matter of personal preference; I find it neater to have a regular Baclient node to perform the normal backups and a separate TDP node in a domain dedicated to the TDP backups.
It makes the process cleaner in my opinion. Thanks. Just use the same nodename and scheduler service for the regular B/A client incremental backups. You would just have 2 schedules to the same node. Make them for different times. This also guarantees that they won't run together. Here is an example of how your FULL schedule will look like "define sched TDPDOMAIN TDPSCHEDULEFULL action=command object='"LOCATION_OF_TDP_DIRECTORY\TDPFULL.CMD"' ....watch the single and double-quotes in the schedule definition. * Define a new TSM Central Scheduler Service for the TDP node. As Del noted, refer to the TDP for SQL guide at this link: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v1r1/index.jsp?topic=/ com.ibm.itsmfd.doc/dpsql.htm In the left frame, bring up the PDF and refer to Chapter3 for in-depth details on the configuration. Good luck.
