Hi Christian, Windows 2008 R2 support does require changes in the client to make it work correctly. The supporting code is not yet available. If you go to the link in my sig and click "Client requirements", then find the article for Microsoft Windows client requirements, you will find our statements of intended support for Windows 2008 R2 (and Windows 7) in the TSM client version 5.5 and 6.1 sections of that document.
In general, our policy is to provide support for new operating systems within 90 days after the OS GA date (the "broad availability date", not necessarily RTM date). According to Microsoft, Windows Server 2008 R2 is planned for broad availability (i.e., GA) on October 22: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/roadmap.aspx Unofficially, we are currently targeting TSM client version 6.1 support much closer to Microsoft's GA date than the 90 days cited in the TSM client requirements page (subject to change at our discretion until the support is actually available).
