When we implemented data domain here, EMC recommended using a snapshot, then a fastcopy for a DR test with TSM.
We tested this during one of our DR tests successfully and didn't have any issues. You can either mark all you volumes in TSM read-only or you could create a snapshot of the target and use that for TSM. You can always break the replication in a true D/R.
