I usually label tapes with:

Label libv libraryname search=bulk checkin=scratch labels=barcode

Subject: [ADSM-L] Issue checking in brand new tapes

Hi all. I'm trying to check in brand new tapes in our TS3310 tape library.
I had a total of 5 brand new tapes, so I put them in the library and did the
'insert media'.

Then typed the server command:
LABEL LIBV TSMxyz SEARCH=YES CHECKIN=SCRATCH LABELS=B OVERWRITE=Y

This resulted in only two of the tapes being checked in:
ANR8810I Volume A00xxx1L5 has been labeled in library TSMxyz.
ANR8810I Volume A00xxx2L5 has been labeled in library TSMxyz.

So for the other three, I tried:
CHECKIN LIBVOLUME TSMxyz SEARCH=YES VOLLIST=A00xxx3L5,A00xxx4L5,A00xxx5L5
STATUS=SCRATCH CHECKLABEL=BARCODE

Which resulted in:
ANR0984I Process 535 for CHECKIN LIBVOLUME started in the BACKGROUND at
16:29:09.
ANR8422I CHECKIN LIBVOLUME: Operation for library TSMxyz started as process 535.
ANR8431I CHECKIN LIBVOLUME process completed for library TSMxyz; 0 volume(s)
found.
ANR0985I Process 535 for CHECKIN LIBVOLUME running in the BACKGROUND completed
with completion state SUCCESS at 16:29:13.

So then I tried one tape at a time:
CHECKIN LIBVOLUME TSMxyz SEARCH=YES CHECKLABEL=YES STATUS=SCRATCH
VOLLIST=A00xxx3L5
Resulted in same: 0 volumes found but complete state of success.

We are at server version 6.3.
Anyone got any ideas as to why the checkin is not finding the tapes??
