I just fought this a month ago. After updating all my TSM servers to 6.3.5.1 (RedHat Linux), Linux based Oracle backups started to fail. Even after setting the node option "BACKUPINITIATION" to ALL (vs default of root) I still had to change this option and bounce all of my servers that handle Oracle backups. What a pain.
