I have an existing (jar) Android library pushed to Maven Central. My users have asked for an AAR as well. So I built one and pushed it up to the same artifact. However I can't get Android Studio to use the AAR version of the library. It always seems to fetch the JAR version no matter what I do. My question is: (a) Is Android Studio refusing to load the AAR because the pom has <packaging>jar</packaging>?, or (b) should specifying the AAR using mylibrary@aar be working in this situation?
