Thanks guys for your answers. Yeah, we need the package name which is used to generate the R file. If i am interpreting correctly, applicationId can be different. So if one overrides the applicationId for example for a pro version of the app, we cannot use the applicationId because the R file is still in the package, and we would not find it under applicationId.
