You can certainly still use Component Load Balancing (CLB) in Application Center Server to balance DCOM requests.
However, a simpler and (in my experience) more reliable approach is to use Network Load Balancing (NLB) to balance .NET remoting calls to server-activated objects. This will work with both the HTTP and TCP remoting channels. NLB ships with W2K Advanced Server, and in Application Center Server. How do we achieve that load-balancing act in .Net framework? Do we still have to use AppCenter and ServiceComponent in .Net? And is this much a theory than widely implemented concept? I just want to know where we r headed as far as middle tier/objects level scalability is concerned?
