From the above: "Update to .NET My Services In March 2001, Microsoft announced the company's intention to build .NET My Services. These services were intended to address common user-distributed computing scenarios. Over the last year, Microsoft has been gathering customer feedback regarding .NET My Services. In response to this feedback, the company has shifted from our original focus of creating Microsoft hosted services. Instead Microsoft is building infrastructure and tools that will enable customers to run these user-centric services themselves. Microsoft will update this Web site when the company's plans regarding .NET My Services platform technologies are made publicly available." I believe that for one reason or another, most companies weren't big on the idea of superimposing Microsoft between them and their customer base. Seemed to think it would take control of the customers out of their hands, or something silly like that..... That was another one of the "requirements," you know.
