can someone expalin to me why I can have a working process of 2457600 bytes and in the (task manager processes) it shows 16072k. Correct me if I am wrong but are there not 1024 bytes in 1 kilobyte and the documentation from microsoft tells me that the properties value is The total amount of physical memory the associated process is using. I would assume that it is in bytes so
x bytes / 1024 = number of kilobytes thus 2457600 / 1024 = 2400 k if I check the Environment.WorkingSet vs. Process.WorkingSet 16142336 / 1024 = 15746 k this is close but does the (task manager processes) show the environment process or working process. I would like to know this because I am trying to create another process that can monitor memory usage of a cache and if the cache starts to use too much memory I want to remove low priority items from the cache to free up space. any clues?
