Douglas/Hammad, Thanks for the insights. I am looking forward to use the log4net library, don't know if you used it before but it's very straightforward.
About the location to log, this is a good strategy too. I will try to log most fatal errors and/or exceptions on the application tier, I think it makes more sense though. Then, in the frontends I can just make some basic error handling to show the user some error ocurred.
