I am a newbie who has just recently installed IIS on an XP system, followed
by Visual Studio .Net. I then installed MSDN (and clicked "yes" on the
offer to integrate it with IIS). But things are not as they should be!:
1. Filters when using the Help/Search feature of Visual Studio .Net do not
appear to be working. For instance, I tried using the filter "Visual
Basic", while creating a Visual Basic Windows application, and a search
for "Image Properties" returned 500 entries, most of which where unrelated
to Visual Basic.
2. To refer to any of the help topics (including those that ARE related to
Visual Basic), I am forced to employ the MSDN installation CD. I get a
message to insert this CD. The installed copy of MSDN on my hard drive
appears to be ignored.
I know that most of the listserve users are using Windows Server, not XP,
but any clues on how to resolve the above problems with MSDN would be
appreciated.
