Ok, we know that by now, the poster knows that by now as well.
The babbling about "This list isn't meant for postings about
<insert topic here>" can go on and on, but using YOUR analogy: I didn't
subscribe to this list to get babbling about "this isn't allowed on this
list", like your and other's postings.
So before you all lose yourself in explaining the original
spammer in 1001 postings about how wrong he/she was by posting here,
consider that the end-result of THAT will be a large pile of off-topic
goo no-one asked for as well.

ps: if you don't like spammers, and no-one likes them, mail
their ISP's abuse email, explain the matter and move on. Like you said
yourself, this list is a discussion list on advanced dotnet development.
