The code in that archive is also runnable on .NET 1.x, it's core is a
rotation routine and an array of pixels which is
rotated over an angle. The .NET 2.0 aspects of that example are the window and
the project format, not much more (oh and a generic
here and there but that's minor and not that essential for the algorithm).

Yes I know :) It's not a platform that is very 'developer friendly'
