Yes, it is read-only and I will try that to fix it. However, the object that I'm trying to serialize (from this property) contains an object which contains a collection of objects (via a property that is also read-only) and it serializes correctly when I just serialize it.
Here's my object hierarchy: RootObject Order (read-only) Details (read-only) Detail Patient (read-only) Allergies (read-only) Allergy DiagnosisCodes (read-only) DiagnosisCode When I serialize just the order, it comes out fine. When I serialize root object, the order property will not serialize Any ideas? Thanks, Mike On 7/12/06, Patrick Steele <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Is the property read-only? If it's read-only, I don't think the XML serializer will be able to "set" it upon deserialization so it won't serialize it. -- Patrick Steele Microsoft .NET MVP http://weblogs.asp.net/psteele -----Original Message----- From: Discussion of advanced .NET topics. I'm having a new problem now. I can't get one of my properties that returns a single object to serialize. When I serialized just that object, it worked fine, but it won't do it now that it's a property of a higher level object. Any suggestions?
