Hi everyone, Just wanted to remind you to send in your request for the new OSUG kits as soon as possible...and definitely by December 15th if you want to be able to personalize the t-shirts for your group.
Speaking of personalization - I spoke with the t-shirt vendor. If you are a bit intimidated by coming up with your own artwork, just send us the words you would like displayed, and we can put it in a standard font for you. If you are planning some custom artwork, please keep in mind that it needs to be one color. Something that will print in shades of gray might work too. Sorry I did not mention that earlier. Also, forgot to mention before that we are making special shirts for the OSUG Leaders! We've reserved a couple for each OSUG, we just need to know what size to set aside for you - small, medium, large, extra-large (I think they go up to 6XL). That's it for now. Remember to send your requests to osug-kits at sun.com. Thanks, T -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [osug-leaders] New Kits for OSUGs...and more Date: Wed, 19 Nov 2008 21:51:56 -0800 From: Teresa Giacomini <[email protected]> To: OpenSolaris Advocacy <advocacy-discuss at opensolaris.org>, osug-leaders at opensolaris.org, opensolaris-announce at opensolaris.org Hi, This is a long note, but I hope it's worth it... I'm happy to report that very soon Sun will have some new goodies to send off to OpenSolaris User Groups. Stuff like a cool new t-shirt, laptop stickers, OpenSolaris 2008.11 CDs and some mini-books too. In addition to that, we'll be able to provide a bit of support for your meetings - if you are interested - $100 Visa gift cards to help defray the cost of food and beverage, and maybe even a speaker for your meetings once in a while. Regarding that cool new t-shirt I mentioned. It's even cooler 'cos you get to personalize it for your OSUG. Basically, we'd like it to say something like "XXOSUG Member", but it is up to you. It'll be printed on the left sleeve. It just needs to be a maximum of 3.75" wide by 4" tall. It can be smaller than that if you like. If you want your shirts personalized for your OSUG, you need to get us all of the information below no later than December 15, 2009. After that, we'll still have goodies, but you will no longer be able to get the personalized t-shirts. Please send the following information to osug-kits at sun.com and we'll fulfill your request as soon as we can: - total number of members - t-shirt breakdown (should match the number of members): - # of men's small shirts - # of men's medium shirts - # of men's large shirts - # of men's extra-large shirts - # of men's extra-large TALL shirts - # of men's extra-extra-large shirts - # of women's small shirts - # of women's medium shirts - # of women's large shirts - # of women's extra-large shirts - address to ship the goodies to including a postal code & phone number - image/artwork for personalized sleeve Only one person per OSUG should submit the info. Please be sure to provide us with an address that will be good for a few months, as we plan to send you stuff as it becomes available, so you are likely to receive more than one shipment. Also, whoever receives the shipments should also join osug-leaders at opensolaris.org. That's the place where you'll find ongoing information about support for user groups and such. You can also share ideas with other OSUG leads. Just so you know, new groups formed since the last batch of goodies was shipped last Spring will take priority, but we plan to have enough for all groups. We'll do our best to provide the sizes you request, but we may need to make some adjustments based on what we have in stock. We also plan to have a minimum order - we just haven't determined the exact number yet. So, if you have a small group, don't be surprised if you get a few more items than you requested. You'll be ready for the newcomers this way! You can also contact us at osug-kits at sun.com if you are interested in a speaker for your meeting. Let us know the topic you are interested in and the approximate date of your meeting. We won't be able to fulfill all of these requests, but we'll do our best to make sure the really active groups get some support. Oh, and don't be surprised if you don't get a response from me. There are a few of us working on this together - Jim Grisanzio, Aaron Houston, Shaoting Duan, Mark DeHart, Roman Strobl, Fang Li and me. Any one of us might respond to your request. That's it for now, Teresa _______________________________________________ osug-leaders mailing list osug-leaders at opensolaris.org http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/osug-leaders
