Despite some of the spot-on comments by Rich and others, I have to go against the tide here and say that we should let them in. 1) If the group is truly an open group, everyone should be allowed to join. Wether they gather lists or not, I think is really not important, that could happen anywhere on the net, yahoogroups, opensolaris.org, our blogs (all of us, Sun and external), etc... 2) I don't think they get our email address on linkedin, only our linkedin contact which email is sent through. I will say that it's odd that I am siding to let them in, based on the open aspect of OpenSolaris, because I have gotten more and more emails from head hunters and I'm not sure where they come from.
