Yep ! I'm a MacOS/Aqua desktop user and a Solaris lover/advocate/ 
worker/sysadmin.
And Gnome can't compete with Aqua for now !  i.e.: I booted os200805  
yesterday...and never find how to use compiz. It would have take me 5  
minutes with aqua.
Don't event think to be able to compete with Apple in the desktop  
arena without billions of investment in Gnome. The issue is...your  
investment will benefit to OpenSolaris AND OpenSuse AND fedora AND RH  
AND Mandriva AND .....

This is a major issue ! I'm not sure you can beat any Linux distro on  
the desktop !  As I said, unfortunately we're not able to show the  
differences to a desktop user.
