We at SASTRA University, India have already resolved to celebrate May
5th every year as OpenSolaris Birthday. OpenSolaris release was
celebrated with lots of energy at my university and you can see a clip
of it on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opxcqL-nty4

You can also check out my blog

Hi.
I have 2 ideas.

1. How about having OpenSolaris installation day. Every UG can set up
install fest in there city/country/area/university etc. On the end of the
day we can count how many installation each of UG has made on that day. We
could do that every year on the same day in the whole world.

2. OpenSolaris contribution day. The idea is that every UG make some
contribution to OpenSolars on the same day. Some UG's can make
installation day, some can make Fix a Bug Day, some can make presentations
etc. We can make special place on website (or dedicated website for this
event) where UG's can write what kind of event they are planning and to
put pictures from it after.

Sincerely,
Nikola.
