I would never give up the UNIX cmdlind in favor of the GNU variant.
It should be sufficient to ask new users for the style they like.
This could be either achieved by the skeleton dir option to useradd or
by copying a skeleton that is a set up shell script with questions.

They will later find problems and assert the problems are Solaris specific.
