Project Description:

The primary purpose of this project is to drive awareness and adoption of
OpenSolaris primarily among engineers, administrators and developers in
Denmark. The user group will provide a stable base for the free exchange of
ideas and experience. One of our goals will be to educate the users by
presentations by Sun Microsystems, the OpenSolaris community and by our
members.

A secondary purpose is to encourage membership by students, researchers and
engineers working in industry. We will also encourage student adoption and
student projects.

Project Needs:

This project requires project space on OpenSolaris.org site. The project
also requires a mailing list. Suggested list name is ug-dosug at
opensolaris.org.

Proposed Projects:

We plan to initiate workshops and user group meetings in Denmark, with a
focus on using OpenSolaris. Step 1 is to gather membership and further
support for the user group from the universities and the open source
community in Denmark.

Future activities will be presentations and workshops on topics including:

* Introduction to Dtrace
* The ZFS filesystem
* OpenSolaris - Features Overview
* Virtualization, Zones, xVM, ldoms
* OpenSolaris install-kickstart
