Dear Advocacy-Discuss members, (many thanks to Jim Grisanzio for his help and support over the past few months while conditioning of the user group was being prepared and planned!!)
we would like to start an OpenSolaris user group in Turkey as the current group seems to not be functional. The current list of initial members is: Name User Email ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Engin Mennan Ustaog(lu enginmu engin at birimelektronik.com.tr <mailto:engin at birimelektronik.com.tr> Mehmet Enis Ustaog(lu mehmeteu mehmet at birimelektronik.com.tr <mailto:mehmet at birimelektronik.com.tr> Cos,kun Caner coskunc my_cos at msn.com <mailto:my_cos at msn.com> Kudret Kal?nag(a kudretk kudret_k at hotmail.com <mailto:kudret_k at hotmail.com> Samet ?zden sameto samet_ozden1986 at hotmail.com <mailto:samet_ozden1986 at hotmail.com> Feyyaz S,is,kolu feyyazs benimadimfs at hotmail.com <mailto:benimadimfs at hotmail.com> ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kaya Saman kayasaman Saman_kaya at netscapte.net The group leaders and moderators will be a trio consisting of: Name ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Kaya Saman (head leader) Engin Mennan Ustaoglu (2nd leader/moderator) Mehmet Enis Ustaogly (3rd leader/moderator) Description: The Istanbul OSUG will be an OpenSolaris user group/community based in Istanbul, Turkey. The primary objective and goal of this group will be to spread awareness about UNIX based operating systems and the various technologies contained within them, and build up a community based around the OpenSolairs operating system. The main focus and target will be getting students involved but also we will be looking at raising awareness within the SOHO and SMB sectors too. We plan to have monthly meetings in which presentations will be held on the technical and social aspects of community based operating systems. We intend to also include walk in workshops where anybody can have access to a small portion of a data center and get 'hands on' experience with OpenSolaris and see the live integration between different systems hardware and software based in a hierarchical network environment. Many thanks and best regards, Kaya
