John, thanks for the link to gnu-misc-discuss. I didn't know that list, but
I'll make sure to have a look.

Giving my two cents about this discussion, I think that discussing free
software in general is useful even within the context of this campaign. The
campaign has attracted many people who didn't know about free software in the
sense that we're using the term. The name "BadVista" alone appeals not only to
free software advocates, but also to Mac lovers or Windows XP lovers. (I've
criticized in the past that some news stories that were linked from
BadVista.org weren't particularly helpful in this respect when they ended on a
note of "Vista is bad. Macs are better anyway.")

If "coordinating a campaign" includes getting everyone who's interested on the
same track, then I do think we shouldn't rule out discussions that are not
directly about printing stickers, T-shirts, or gathering on Times Square. I'd
like to view these discussions as some kind of training ground, specifically
for the purposes of the BadVista campaign, of course, where advocates test out
their arguments. ;-)

I'll be sure to check out gnu-misc-discuss, but I hope that your reply wasn't
meant as a final warning before you mark off-topic discussions as spam. :-)

Kind Regards,
M.F.
