I have a Sony Laptop that has Media Center Edition on it that was
given to me last December for my birthday. Except for setting it up I
have not used it yet on line or for anything. I will pull it out of
the closet and update it to see exactly what was done and report back
after US Memorial Day (Monday). I noticed one thing and that was a
Sony notation with it that states this laptop qualifies for a upgrade
to Windows Vista when it is released from Sony.

One other thing I did notice was that the warranty would be void if I
uninstalled Windows or the Sony media programs and placed any other
operating systems on it except Windows Vista. Sony is another one
that is high on DRM and it shows they have no respect for Open Source
what so ever.

I still believe certain media outlets and Microsoft are trying to take
full control of most media on the internet so that it only plays on
Microsoft systems. I am still wondering what happened to anti-trust,
not only in the US, but other countries also. Are media sources and
Microsoft that strong that they are above laws or is it they have
certain people in their pockets where they look the other way?
Microsoft needs to be stopped and if our governments will not do it
then we need to unite the people, prove to them that Microsoft wants
to take away their freedoms of even being able to call a computer
their own. Anyone buying Vista has given up their right to install
hardware, software of their choice and reading the MS EULA you are
only renting the OS as it is not yours. Microsoft is not for the
consumer but is lost in its own quest for control, greed and to either
buy out competitors, show contempt, or out right lie about patents,
dishonesty, and the most important, they will steal or copy any
software that is known to be better then their own.
