The ConversionAction resource's counting_type attribute does not appear to be read or output only. You can try performing an UPDATE operation to modify your conversion actions counting type. However, I would recommend that you reach out as well to the Google Ads Product Support team, to clarify the compatibility of updating the counting type based on our conversion action category.
