We conduct due diligence on behalf of investors seeking information on web businesses being considered for acquisition. Recently it was brought to my attention that some sellers hide multiple adwords accounts from prospective buyers in order to ramp sales (and hide the expense) prior to the offering. They do this by creating adwords accounts that are paid for with funds not traceable by looking at the business records - perhaps using a personal credit card, etc.
Is there any way to detect all the adwords accounts used to promote sales on a specific domain? If not, are there any suggestions that could give us insight into these kinds of practices? Thank you for your time.
