Hi Alex, You're correct, AdWords API scope <https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/authentication#scope> is for both read and write access to AdWords API. The access level of the login email applies to API requests as well. If you've authenticated as a read-only client, you'll only be able to make GET calls and download reports. Email-only logins cannot make AdWords API calls at all. You'll need to use a login with read-only access to get a behavior similar to read-only scope.
