In the AdWords API, the INCOME_RANGE criteria type, currently, can only be retrieved via the Criteria Performance Report. The said report type is also a single attribution type, meaning, only the criteria type deemed by AdWords as most relevant would be returned and all statistics would be associated to the said criteria. In your scenario, the keyword type was the one that was selected by the system.
